After different phases of working on the project; Jermaine Fowler’s Superior Donuts will be officially headed to CBS. The announcement was made yesterday along with a premiere date set for Feb. 2 .
CBS has set the premiere date for freshman series “Superior Donuts.” The multi-camera comedy will debut Thursday, Feb. 2 at 8:30 p.m. It will then move to its regular Monday, 9 p.m. time period the following week, beginning Feb. 6. Veteran comedy “2 Broke Girls” will shift to Mondays at 9:30 p.m. Based on the play by Tracy Letts, “Superior Donuts” stars Judd Hirsch as the gruff owner of a small doughnut shop in a gentrifying Chicago neighborhood and Jermaine Fowler as his new, younger employee. Katey Sagal, David Koechner, Maz Jobrani, Anna Baryshnikov, Darien Sills-Evans and Rell Battle also star. Hailing from CBS Television Studios, the series is executive produced by Bob Daily, Neil Goldman, Garrett Donovan, Mark Teitelbaum, John Montgomery, Michael Rotenberg, Josh Lieberman, and Fowler.
