A few of SNL’s favorites will be all taking to the stage tonight apart of the premiere episode of NBC’s new series Maya & Marty, starring Maya Rudolph and Martin Short. It has been revealed that the new comedic duo will be joined by fellow SNL-mates Jimmy Fallon, and Kenan Thompson (above).
Jimmy Fallon and Kenan Thompson are set to appear in the first episode of fellow SNL vets Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s new variety show on NBC, Maya & Marty. According to Deadline, they will be joined by Tom Hanks, Miley Cyrus – an upcoming coach on The Voice – and Larry David, who returned to SNL this season to impersonate Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders after a brief stint as a writer in the 1980s. While Fallon is only slated to be in the premiere, Thompson is expected to appear on a weekly basis as a regular cast member throughout the duration of the show’s six-episode run. The series will film each week at NBC’s headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City. Maya & Marty – which is co-executive produced by SNL boss Lorne Michaels – will include musical numbers and sketches that spoof current events, celebrities and topical trends.
