Back in 2013, Hannibal Buress was an upcoming comedian who was regularly working the comedy circuit. Around that time he took a trip to Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the U.K. for his first time and filmed the whole expreince. Now in a partnership with Netflix, Hannibal will be premiering his month long adventure at the festival. Netflix announced today in a official statement that the upcoming documentary is set to stream soon.
Filmed over the course of 28 days in August 2013, Hannibal Takes Edinburgh follows Buress as the then up-and-coming comedian performed nightly to packed houses at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest art and comedy festival in the world. The film blends extended moments from Buress’ pin-sharp observational stand-up with scenes of the comedian waxing philosophic on building his comedy routine, life on the road for a comedian and immersing himself in the Scottish culture.
